Super Cute Gift Idea!

I found this darling gift idea over at Isabella and Max Rooms, and thought it would be a fun project for my kids to make for their teachers or grandmas this year. It's a tray for holding jewelry, keys, drinks etc. Simple, but fun and pretty. I might even make one for myself! Head over to her blog (she is on my decorating blog roll) to check out the details. First Ever Booth Family Vacation!!

Ok, I did this in two posts and so now it is backwards, just read on and it will eventually make sense. This is my brother and his bride during their ceremony.

Wild Mens!

My boys and their cousins. My parents have 6 grandsons and 0 granddaughters. These boys love getting together. They have a blast! And it gets a little crazy! Love these boys!


The wedding was the funnest I have ever been to!! It was seriously one big P-A-R-T-Y! We had so much fun dancing, and catching up with people, and watching these 5 little boys cut a serious rug. They tore it up on the dance floor. And their clothes are ruined to prove it! They were seriously sooo cute!

We met up with Trevor's sister Ashleigh for a fun day at the zoo. That zoo is way awesome and its free! It was fun to spend time with Ash and catch up.

First Ever Booth Family Vacation!!

My brother Aaron got married on October 9th and we headed out to Washington D.C. for their wedding festivities and a week long trip to see the sights. We had a blast, and I can see why Aaron and Kara love living in that area, it is beautiful!!

We visited Arlington National Cemetery- there is such a reverence there.


It was cool to see all of the landmarks, the kids even had fun even though they are a little young to get the history behind it all.

My Boys!

I just wanted to update you, and my "scrapbook" (this is as scrapbooky as I get) on the boys. Lately, especially, I have felt so blessed to be the mom of these three beautiful little guys. I am in awe at what the Lord gives us.

Will

Will started 1st grade this year, it is an adjustment for him to go all day and has been pretty hard for him to get used to being away from home that long, but he is doing better every day.
(He has tried to convince me several times that I should just home school him. Um.... no thanks!) His teacher, Mrs. Mickelson is darling and he has some fun friends in his class. Will has always been a really good student, and I think he is going to have a great year. He is way into playing with his friends lately, in fact that is pretty much all he wants to do, and maybe his DS once in awhile. He is such a good big brother and includes Charlie when he is with his friends. He also loves his baby O's. I love this boy, can't believe he is 6!


Charlie

This kid is too much. The stuff that comes out of his mouth seriously makes my day. Last week he told me I was wasting his time. He keeps having these random dreams about birds and turtles in his bed, and the other night he was crying in his sleep and told Trevor he just wants a Peps (Pepsi). He started pre-school this year and loves it, mostly because it means he is big. He has gained an opinion about what he wears (which I could do without), has gotten quite sassy, and is a little potty talker (no swear words, just boy talk that you could do without). He loves his baby brother, and thinks Will's friends are his. Recently Will's friend Gavin invited Charlie to his birthday party and you've never seen a kid so excited. But despite being so big he still likes me to hold him and cuddle. Sometimes I wish he would just stay little.

Owen

This baby boy went from being kind of a fussy little guy, to a melt your heart smiler (like big cheesy grins), gooer, and laugher. He is seriously so much fun at 3 months. He just rolled over last night to much applause from his parents and brothers. And I could seriously gaze at him all day. He is losing some of his hair so its hard to tell what color it will end up being, but his little face looks just like his brothers' did. He brings so much fun and joy to our house.

I am THAT mom!

Three kids has kind of thrown me for a loop. There is most definitely no napping when the baby is napping, therefore I have relied on a new found adrenaline to keep me going throughout the day. And as much as I enjoy the bonding of nursing, it has turned into me, the baby and his two brothers who just have to check on Owen and make sure he's eating good. But the biggest loop has been the grocery store. Since my boys have been older I really haven't minded taking them to get groceries, but I have now learned that 2 older boys and a carseat in the cart, although sounds do-able is not (at least for me) when I have more than a few things to get.
I was kind of excited for my Smith's shopping trip because I had a ton of coupons for stuff I needed to stock up on. So, although my friend Suzanne offered to take my boys, I said "I've got this." I had a plan, me: shopping cart with baby and a few groceries around the carseat. Will: big shopping cart of his own with all the TP and paper towels, etc. Charlie: kids' size cart filled to the brim. It made sense to me before we entered the store, and quite honestly the boys were awesome helpers. We were a small train of carts and Owen decided he had had it in the car seat so I held him as I pushed, and then I continued to hold him as I picked up the tomatoes that had fallen out of my bag all over the floor. At this point the sweat was beading up on my forehead and I just kept telling myself, "don't cry". We made it through checkout and were on our way to the car when Will's cart caught on the curb and tipped over and sent all his groceries onto the pavement. He handled it so good and about 5 super nice people helped us put it all back in and a cute little lady who didn't speak much english helped him to our car (I still had the baby in one arm). As I drove off I thought, "what made me think I could do this?!" The logistics of it were all wrong. Lesson learned. Needless to say I was that mom in the grocery store that you think to yourself, "Bless her heart..." or "What an idiot!"

Baby Owen

Our sweet little babe is finally here! Meet Owen W. Booth born on June 2nd at 3:06am. He weighed 8lbs 2oz, and was 20 inches long. He looks like his brothers except for the fact that his hair is brown like Trevor, it will be interesting to see if it goes blonde and curly. The newborn stage always makes me a little nervous but I love how warm and cuddly they are.
Just a warning: this next part is lengthy but I want to write it down before I forget. I went to my appointment last Tuesday and because of a little bit of spotting he said if I was dialated to a 2 he would send me up to labor and delivery. I gave Dr. H a high five and seriously got tears in my eyes I was so happy (happy to get our baby here and just as happy to not be pregnant anymore). Labor and Delivery couldn't take me until 9pm so Trev and I got a few things packed up while the boys were with Deb and Madi and then we headed to my parents for dinner and to drop the boys off to sleep.
After I got the drugs that were supposed to put me into labor it was a SLOW process. I was there for about 4 hours before I made any sort of progress but once I hit a 4 I was a 10 in about an hour. All I can say is that I love epiderals and am so grateful for them. Even though it was the middle of the night and I was in labor we actually had kind of a good time chatting and laughing with our cute nurse Nanci, our Anethesialogist (sp?) Dr. Stevens and Dr. Horsley.
Finally baby Owen was here! Trev and I didn't sleep at all that night, too much going on. And we still haven't caught up, but that little boy is worth every bit of lost sleep.

His brothers are loving him. Charlie has this super cute baby talk he does to him about 2 inches from Owen's face, poor baby, but Charlie just can't get enough of him. Will is so proud of him and loves to show him off to his friends. I'm so grateful for these 3 little boys!

Will and Charlie's Room

Don't worry that it took me forever to get the boys' room decorated. I think my lack of pregnancy energy had something to do with it:) I still don't have window treatments up because I keep debating about what to do. I would love to slowly convert all of my blinds to bamboo shades but I have to get the ones you can't see through and they are a little pricey. I have thought about putting up panels or roman shades and I just can't figure it out, so it will just have to sit until I can make a decision. (sorry that the pictures are kind of in a random order, I could not get it to work right)

I found a duvet cover and matching fabric at Downeast before we even built this house and I knew I wanted to use it for Charlie's room, so it worked out great when we had to get bunk beds for the boys. I just made another duvet and used some of the extra fabric to cover my $9 junk store bench (which I kind of love). The red pillows were $5 at Wal-mart and I also got the boys matching sheets from their Better Homes and Gardens line for only $12 and they have washed up awesome!! My mother-in-law and sister-in-law made their super cute quilts that each have their initial on them and kind of tie in all of the colors of the room. One of my favorites is their dog pillows, I LOVE this fabric (premierprintsinc.com), it kind of ties in their dog lamp which I also paired with a Wal-mart lamp shade.

I love this mustard yellow dresser that was also a junk store purchase, I loved the lines of it and its spindle legs, and decided to keep it the original color because its just kind of fun!

My mom helped me put together this collage wall. I love pictures of my boys but for some reason I never quite know how to display them. I went back through the years and framed some of my favorites, and now sometimes I just come into their room to look at the pictures because they make me smile. I think that is one reason I love decorating so much, I think your home should make you smile:)

Easter and Spring Break

I love having out a few easter and spring decorations, they give me the hope of warmer weather and sunshine. And I don't have the energy to switch them out at the moment so I'm sure the bunnies will be around until May, not a biggie.

My parents were out of town for easter so the Monday before we went to dinner and then dyed easter eggs. The boys of course loved it, messiness and all.

I love arranging the easter baskets and setting them out the night before. I don't think my boys really expected anything that morning and were surprised and excited with their little prizes (a pack of pokemon cards and a dollar bill goes a long way:). We did our best to watch conference and then headed over to Trevor's parents for easter dinner.

We didn't go anywhere for spring break but we actually kept pretty busy. I took the boys to see "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" which they loved, possibly because of all the gross little boy humor in it. And then my sister-in-law Madison and I took the boys down to Ogden, we ate at the Pizza Factory which was delicious (kids eat free Tuesday, gotta appreciate that!) and then we walked over the the Treehouse Museum (I left my camera in the car) we had a great time and the boys and I love being with Madi, she is such an amazing aunt!

On Friday my mom and Grandma and I took the boys to Baby Animal Days, although it was a bit chilly we had a lot of fun. Not too many people, and the boys even got to see daddy and grandpa Booth working the Coppermill booth, that's why I love our small valley!

Ideas, Ideas!

For anyone who is decorating a nursery or a child's room this website is awesome for ideas www.lucyandcompany.com. Of course I don't know how to link you there, but if you check out the Young House Love link under my decorating blogs it tells you how she created a few of her light fixtures and window treatments for way inexpensive. I love how this lady is a little bit modern, and doesn't do "cheesy" kids rooms. I guess you could say kids' rooms have been on my mind lately. I am all but done with the boys' room and am just starting to tackle the nursery, so I will post some pictures soon.

Meet Bear

We have a new addition to our family and he is small and furry. Meet Bear. It all started when Charlie's primary teacher sent the kids home with a mini blanket, and suddenly a random Build a Bear was brought out of Charlie's closet and made the newest member of our family. I am told he is a nice bear, he does not claw or bite.

Charlie and his babysitter found a little bed for him that he has to sleep in every night, we even have to put him in PJ's before bed. And usually every day we have to put him in clothes.

Sometimes he eats dinner with us, and has to share a chair with Trevor. Charlie keeps telling him,"Dad move over, you are squishing bear!". Bear's diet consists of: granola bars, fruit snacks, crackers, carrots and apples. Bear even plays games with us and has to take his turn picking up a card and rolling the dice. And you better be quiet when bear is having a nap or Charlie is on your case big time! Just ask Will.

Getting Used To The Idea

Well for those of you who may not know, I am pregnant. 19 weeks to be exact. We are so excited and just found out its a BOY! I'll be honest, I was pretty convinced it was a girl (that darn chinese birth chart). I had the ultra sound tech check twice and Dr. Horsley also confirmed it is definitely a boy. I think I am still a little surprised and I have to alter my thinking and planning a little bit. I had girl names picked out (in my head without running them by Trevor), and to be honest I am kind of out of boy names that I love. So if you have any suggestions, please let me know. I am so thankful that everything looked good and that he seems to be healthy. I think I am just getting used to the idea of 3 boys...add to our circus!
