Comments to Remember

Will said the sweetest thing the other night and I have to write it down before I forget. He and Trevor snow blowed and shoveled our neighbor's driveway. He has been asking for about a week to shovel a neighbor's driveway so Sunday night he and Trevor headed over to the Dunkley's (whom Will adores). When they got home I asked him how it felt to do something nice for other people. He goes, "Mom, I got the goose bumps, and (he whispers in my ear) I felt the Holy Spirit." So being as emotional as I have been lately, I start crying, because isn't that moment what its all about? Also, I'm not really sure if our religion refers to it as the Holy Spirit, but I love that he calls it that:)

HALLOWEEN!

Trevor and I headed to Salt Lake for the day to take care of some car things and my mom was nice enough to take the boys. She always has fun things to keep them busy and of course they loved raking the leaves and in the end they actually left them in neat piles.

We had a hard time getting any good pictures of the boys in their costumes, I think they were kind of done for the night.

We had soup at my in-laws and then took the boys to about 10 houses in our neighborhood. Definitely cold, but so fun to see them so excited. Its amazing how much candy you get at 10 houses!

I almost forgot about the pumpkin walk. We went on Monday with my mom and grandma. Its fun to have my grandma make memories with my boys. She is in her 80's but the woman can go! I hope I am as healthy and active at her age. She is darling!

Charlie

So, when Will was little I thought I would always remember the cute things he said. Turns out the memory isn't serving me that well, so I thought I better write down Charlie's cute 2 year old comments before they leave my brain for good.
Charlie has the funnest/funniest personality. If you get him going he will talk your ear off about stuff that normally doesn't come out of a 2 year old mouth. (It could be the older brother influence, ya think?)
-"Dad, I not want you to lay by me. I not like your smell." (Trev actually smells quite good:))
- "Interesting."
- "This is delicious!"
-"Mom, you are MY sweetheart."
-"Can Santa bring me my own little pour wheeler?" (four wheeler, his F's are P's)
-When we were potty training, I would come in to check on him, if he had already flushed he would say, "Sorry, you missed it." Like, too bad for you.
-"My baby peets are cold."
-He has a bean bag that he loves to curl up in and when he's curled up he looks like he's in a little nest. So now he will say, " I want to sit in my nest and have a ba-ba." (ba-ba=sippy cup with milk, no REAL bottle, come on the kid is almost 3. Maybe we should get rid of the sippy cup with milk.)
Those are just a few of his funny things, which I realize don't sound as funny written down. But he has the cutest little voice. He has honestly been so much fun from day 1. He is a total cuddle babe and still loves me to "hold him tight". I love it!! It is hard to think that he will be a big boy in 2 months. Here is a sweet sleeping picture of this non-stop boy in his "nest". Don't you love to look at your kids after they are asleep, somehow it makes anything they did naughty during the day "null and void" (is that the right term?).

Halloween Decor

Okay, so I have a small obsession with decorating blogs. I can thank my cute mother-in-law for that, she is the one that introduced me to them :) I seriously LOVE to check them every day or so and see what they have done. So, not that I am a decorator by any means but I LOVE to play around with decor and inexpensive stuff. And see what I can come up with. I often catch myself wondering why I care so much what my home looks like, no one really sees it. So when I get excited about something I guess in order for someone to see it I better blog about it, right? And truely I decorate for myself, because I'm home all day and decorations make me happy!! I know, I'm kind of nerdy. Also, note to self: don't blog while kids are awake, HUGE MESS in my living room!

Here is my entry table with it's "standard" decor. I love the sconces that were a steal at Real Deals. And the old window frame that I have propped. I love that layered look.

I am also really into glass containers lately. I love them because they are fresh and light and you can always change their look. I needed something to fill in around the bird in the container so I cut up a wreath that didn't work for my house and now it is awesome filler! The bird pic is a TJ Maxx find that I had been eyeing at a full price store. I was stoked to find it!

Here is my Halloween entry table. At first I was kind of bummed that I didn't have a ton of Halloween decorations to put out, but I just used what I had and made one area feel Halloweenie. I ended up loving it, and each year I will add a few more little spookies to more areas of the house.

Again, glass jars and cloches are my favorites!! And seriously, they are like $10-$25. Ribbon has also been fun for me to play with tying around my cloche, it adds color and sort of softens it. The pumpkin was a little too bright so I ran my black ink pad all around it and it gave it the look I was going for.

Office Makeover!

My mom and I decorated her office this summer because it was in desperate need of some help. I wish I had before pics because although it had good "bones" the furniture and decor was literally straight from my grandma's house. We kept the paint, crown molding and carpet. Here is the end result. (These pictures didn't turn out super great,I think it actually looks better in person)

My mom is a marriage and family therapist so we wanted her office to feel kind of "spa like" and relaxing while still being a waiting room. We used kind of an olivey sage green, steel blue and a buttery cream, and paired it with dark wood.

This style is more modern than what we are used to but I think it turned out great. We had so much fun doing it and got some great deals. Who knew TJ Maxx and Shopko would be the place for accessories!

I Am Crafty!

I am not a very crafty person. We even have a scrapbook/card making business and I don't do either of those things. This past weekend we had a booth at the Scrapbook Expo in SLC and when you are surrounded by totally cute crafty things it makes you want to be creative. I came home with some fun things and put together a little cookie bag for Will's teacher's birthday. Its one of those things that I know is totally amateur but I was so pleased with myself for using chipboard, a decorative brad and 2 different ribbons that I had to show someone!

Our "Staycation"

Trev and I decided to take the boys to Salt Lake over Labor Day to stay in a hotel, swim and go to the zoo. You would have thought we were headed to California, the boys were so excited! (we obviously don't go too many places) These are all pictures from the zoo, good times at the zoo, expensive times at the zoo. You know you're being robbed when an ICEE is $5. Not a biggie, next time bring a cooler. Our little staycation was lots of fun, and the best part was spending time with our little fam. I love my 3 boys!!

Getting Creative

So, I guess when you've played in the dirt and on the cement all summer it must get kind of dull by September. Apparently my boys needed some new found fun in the neighborhood.

Our friend Rylee and Will doing a garbage bag race (that lasted about 8 jumps and they were over it).

Will and Charlie sliding on their bums down the dirt hill. I was mad at first and then I remembered that clothes can actually be washed. I also thought that one day this hill won't be there to slide down, climb or lose several flip flops in. Sometimes you've got to let boys be boys! Look at their faces, pure joy!

School Days!

My Will is a kindergartner! I am embarrassed to admit I have been looking forward to this day for quite some time, for my "always have to be busy" boy. But when it came right down to it, I was about ready to follow the bus to school and hold his hand to his classroom. He is for sure too young to be on his own in a big kid school, isn't he? Apparently not! He was cool as a cucumber. And loved everything about it (except listening to the teacher for a long time, that was boring).

He was halfway up our hill to the bus stop before I could even get Charlie in the stroller.

Turns out it only takes us about 5 min. to walk to the bus stop, not the 15 I had planned. No need to leave the house at the crack of dawn. Good to know! As soon as the other kids got there I was informed by Will, "I could go now". The bus driver, Mrs. Speth was also Trevor's bus driver growing up, she says Will looks just like his dad. That is small town for ya. I love it!!

Charlie insisted on his backpack and sunglasses to walk to the bus stop to pick up Will. He cracks me up.

Camping and Bear Lake

My cute mom is all about doing fun things with the boys. She is honestly amazing! She planned a camping trip last week to Tony's Grove and then to Bear Lake for the day. Although I am not the best camper, we had a lot of fun and I know the boys LOVED it!! Memories were made!

The boys and the "camp" dog Mr. Claude. (you can tell my kids are deprived of animals at our house, they keep talking about the camp dogs and how they miss them. Who knew dogs would be the highlight of a camping trip)

I forget how fun Bear Lake is and I am for sure taking my kids there several times next summer. They had a blast playing in the sand and wading in the water, that seemed like it stayed shallow forever.

It is a rare moment that my boys hold hands, this picture is not even posed!

Kent the camper. My dad is darling, he even kept his cool and patience after driving us all clear up to Minatonka cave just to find out there weren't anymore tours for 4 hours. Needless to say, we did not experience the cave on this trip.

Swim Lessons

Will has been taking swim lessons at our neighbor's house. Karen and her daughter Mariah are the best teachers. Will is usually pretty shy about new experiences and everyday he would jump out of the car and head right into class (which sounds pretty simple but in most cases I would have to go with him and coax him to stay) he loved it and he learned so much. In 2 weeks he went from being timid of the water to full on jumping off the diving board, I was so proud of him!

Lagoon

Trevor's work had Lagoon day last Thursday, Trevor couldn't go so my mom and I took the boys. We had so much fun! Will is tall enough to ride almost all of the rides and is pretty daring, and Charlie was a little hesitant so we mainly stuck with the kid rides. The day was great quality time with my kids and the boys didn't fight at all, which is rare lately!

Cute Boys

Will fell asleep on Trevor's lap after church the other Sunday, which is super sweet because Will is not much into cuddling. I think they both look super cute!

Slip n' Sliding

My friend Kami invited us over to her house with her nieces and nephews to slip and slide on the hugest tarp down her hill. Charlie took some coaxing and was ticked when I gave him a little "nudge" at the top (big tears, oops!) but after he decided on his own they all seriously had the best time. And it was fun for me to spend time with Kam and hang out with Angela and Kaelene. Good times at the Ballstaedt res!

24th of July

We had a fun 24th! My parents' ward does a parade, so my mom and I decorated the boys' bikes with balloons and streamers they looked super cute. However that morning Will decided he was too cool for balloons and most of the streamers and Charlie wanted nothing to do with the balloons on the front of his bike. So they all came off. Oh well, lessoned learn, don't put a lot of time into the old bike parade. We all still had a great time, and decided for sure its a Webb family tradition (we don't have many so we're trying to create some)

Oompa Loompa?

Whenever Trevor vaccums the house he gets the hose and sucks up the boys' hair with it. He seriously did the funniest hair styles the other night.


Will has got the big wave going on.



And I think for sure Charlie needs to be an Oompa Loompa!
